Installing Tamil font in Samsung Android Mobiles




Hello people,

I am using Galaxy Fit (S5670) and want Tamil to be viewed and typed in my phone. So I Tried this way but risky to just follow the step. After installing in Galaxy FIT, I tried with Galaxy Tab (P1000) with latest Firmware (but with old Firmware is showing some Problems) it was successful. Just follow the steps :

STEP 1:


Should ROOT the phone before the install the font. To ROOT Connected the phone to PC. Before that Samsung Kies and SuperOneClick Softwares must be installed in PC and IN MOBILE Check the USB debugging mode is ON (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging) .
Click to Download SuperOneClick


STEP 2:

Open SuperOneClick. Just click Root. It runs for a min and if u see the message Done. U will find a application named Superuser in your mobile if rooting is successful.


STEP 3:


After finding the Superuser app in your phone then install Absolute System Root Tool app in your phone. 

After installing Absolute System Root Tool in ur phone, open the app and look for the Download Fonts and click it.

A message appears after clicking it as Would u like to download them now? click OK as in the image.



Then scroll down and find the font DejaVuSans font and click it, a message appears install | download. Click download to download the font after downloading, a message appears install | download now click install. After clicking install a message appears Reboot to apply system font click NO and exit the application and reboot manually (switch off the mobile and switch on it again).

STEP 4:

After rebooting, We just got tamil font from this Site and renamed into (DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf ) copy the fonts to any folder in the phone.







Then copy the fonts (DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf ) to Menu -> My Files -> goodies -> fonts -> DejaVuSans , then paste it ( replace ).

STEP 5:


Again open the app Absolute System Root Tool.

Look for the Download Fonts and click it.

Again a message appears after clicking it as Would u like to download them now? click OK as in the image.

After click OK . Click option the above option appears, click Downloaded Fonts.

Click on DejaVuSans.


STEP 6:

After clicking on DejaVuSans, a message appears install | download now click install. After clicking install a message appears Reboot to apply system font click NO and exit the application and reboot manually (switch off the mobile and on it again).

After the reboot u can view tamil & type tamil in ur android mobile phone .



For typing use MultiLing Keyboard which supports the tamil font in the keyboard too .
